Religious Education

As a community school, we use the Camden RE scheme, Living Difference and have designed our RE curriculum to help pupils understand about a wide range of religions. We promote safe, supportive, open classroom environments where children are encouraged to be tolerant of difference and and allowed to express their views and beliefs with the knowledge that others will listen respectfully. Understanding and appreciating differences between cultures, communities and religions is at the core of our curriculum.

Pupils learn about the practices, beliefs, places of worship and festivals of major religions from around the world. These include Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Sikhism.  They learn to investigate these world views and religions in an informed and insightful way.

We are fortunate to be located in the heart of Central London which has a hugely diverse and multicultural community. The children are able to visit to a range of religious places of worship such as the Regent’s Park Mosque, St Paul’s Cathedral, and central London temples, gurdwaras and synagogues. Below is our RE curriculum overview for KS1 & KS2.
